My journey

Many, many women have gone before you, breastfeeding in the most diverse circumstances. And you can follow them.

My journey was painful

To most mothers, including me, breastfeeding carries huge expectations.

You imagine it as something natural and beautiful. A calm, bonding experience that will last months or even years. You compare yourself to what you see online, what you read, and to other mothers who seem to be coping just fine.

But when feeding becomes painful, stressful, or overwhelming, that picture can fall apart quickly.

When you find yourself crying through feeds, dreading the next one, or questioning your ability as a parent, nothing feels simple anymore. I’ve had both positive and difficult feeding journeys with my own children and during the hardest moments, none of my plans mattered.

I was exhausted. I wanted the pain to stop. I wanted the emotional rollercoaster to end.

Finding the right support

I didn’t realise how important it was to find the right support. After my baby’s tongue tie was released, I remember the first pain free feed so clearly. That moment stayed with me. It changed everything and showed me how powerful the right help, at the right time can be.

Over the years, I’ve spoken with so many parents who tell me they wish they had received that kind of support sooner. Every feeding journey is different. There is no single answer that fits every family. That is exactly why I chose to train as an IBCLC.

My goal is simple.

To give every parent the best possible chance of achieving the feeding journey they want, without having to go through the pain, stress, and self doubt that so many experience alone.
